BANGKOK, July 22, 2026 — EASY RICE Digital Technology Co., Ltd. (EASYRICE), a leading pioneer in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital solutions for the agricultural sector, hosted the national seminar “New Varieties, New Technologies, New Opportunities for Thai Rice” today at the Rama Gardens Hotel in Bangkok.
The forum convened representatives from government agencies, research institutions, academia, agricultural co-operatives, rice millers, exporters, and farmers nationwide. Marking over five years of continuous R&D, EASYRICE demonstrated how deep-tech AI is evolving into a foundational data infrastructure aimed at advancing quality standards, operational efficiency, and long-term global competitiveness for Thailand’s rice industry.

A key highlight of the forum was an executive address by Dr. Preesan Rakwatin, Acting Deputy Executive Director of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), on “Enhancing Businesses with AI with Support Funding from depa.” Dr. Preesan outlined state initiatives designed to lower investment barriers for SMEs transitioning from manual operations to data-driven management. Under depa's AI Transformation program, qualifying agribusinesses can receive up to 50% co-funding on certified digital products and services. This public-private alignment reinforces EASYRICE’s ongoing efforts to build an ecosystem that encourages practical, widespread AI adoption across Thailand’s industrial sector.

Addressing the industry’s transition to the digital era, Mr. Phuvin Kongsawat, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Easy Rice Digital Technology Co., Ltd., emphasized that AI must evolve beyond standalone point solutions into an interconnected digital framework connecting upstream breeding to downstream trade.
"The future development of the rice industry cannot rely on creating new rice varieties alone. It requires reliable, standardized data and robust technology," stated Mr. Phuvin Kongsawat. "AI will play a pivotal role across every stage from genomic research and variety verification to quality control and enterprise data management. EASYRICE remains dedicated to engineering technologies that empower stakeholders at every level and strengthen Thailand’s position in the global marketplace."

EASYRICE presented its integrated product suite designed to resolve specific structural challenges at every tier of production:

Highlighting the principle that "Good AI Starts with Good Data," EASYRICE showcased AI Genomic Selection a technology developed in collaboration with plant breeders and research organizations including the Rice Department, Kasetsart University’s Rice Science Center, and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).
The platform links genomic sequence data with physical trait data (phenotypes) collected through EASYRICE’s inspection engines. By predicting genetic potential and simulating hybrid inheritance across generations, AI Genomic Selection enables breeders to plan crosses systematically. This slashes traditional breeding timelines which typically span over a decade allowing Thailand to introduce high-yielding, climate-resilient, and market-preferred rice varieties rapidly.

The seminar concluded with executive panel discussions featuring the Department of Internal Trade (DIT, Ministry of Commerce), the Thai Rice Exporters Association, the Thai Agriculturist Association, and EASYRICE.
Panels addressed pressing global dynamics, including intensified competition from regional exporters such as Vietnam and India, rising production costs, and changing international buyer requirements. Industry leaders concurred that while breeding superior varieties is essential, commercial success requires reliable verification systems. Transparent AI grading ensures that purchased and exported shipments strictly match certified variety specifications, protecting premium market positioning (such as Thai Jasmine Rice) and building trust with global buyers.
EASYRICE reaffirms its commitment to advancing research in AI and digital technologies to deliver a transparent, efficient, and sustainable data infrastructure for Thailand's agricultural sector on the global stage.
