EASYRICE, a deep tech startup specializing in ai and digital technology, has announced its ambitious vision and investors to revolutionize the thai agricultural industry to a global standard.
EASYRICE, a digital technology company specializing in innovation and artificial intelligence in agriculture, held its first press conference, entitled EASYRICE Press Conference 2023. The conference announced the achievements, vision, and development plan for digital technology and artificial intelligence in 2023. Furthermore, the conference highlighted EASYRICE's esteemed partnership organizations, investors, and supporters for start-up incubation and ongoing support of EASYRICE's technology, aimed at cultivating a robust, top-tier business capable of penetrating the global market.

talked about the origins of EASYRICE, which stemmed from encountering problems during research projects on rice in university. Specifically, the issue of quality control requiring 'human' who expertise in rice grains, which had mostly been done by visual inspection, leading to potential errors. This sparked the idea to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to address these gaps in quality control, reducing the likelihood of mistakes and increasing accuracy and reliability, as well as elevating the standards of inspection.
DIGITALIZED AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY
EASYRICE recognizes the importance of opportunities and business expansion in terms of investment. EASYRICE has received support from both the government and private sectors and has joined forces to invest in business expansion, technology development, and strategic planning for business operations, in order to deliver technology that meets the needs of the industry. It has received support from leading industry organizations with expertise in various fields, including AI And Robotics Ventures Co., Ltd. and Varuna (Thailand) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of PTTEP, which has satellite imaging technology to assess agricultural volume and activity.

Additionally, it has received support from Yip In Tsoi & Jacks Co., Ltd., which is involved in fertilizer and agricultural technology, as well as InnoSpace (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and Accelerating Asia Pte Ltd. from Singapore, which focus on investing in Deep Tech businesses. Furthermore, it has received support from government agencies such as the National Innovation Agency (NIA), which provides funding for Open Innovation projects, as well as support from the TEDFund for the Youth Startup Fund project under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Yip In Tsoi has made an investment in support of EASYRICE to drive the Thai agricultural industry with AI onto the world stage.

The Digital Agri-Tech era will enable digital data linking, which will be beneficial to the agricultural industry. By utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology, we can enhance the quality standards of agricultural products. Technology is a critical component that can assist in increasing accuracy during the planting and harvesting processes. Furthermore, it can assist decision-makers in the agricultural supply chain to make effective decisions based on data. Yip In Tsoi is seeking support for agricultural innovation through this partnership in line with our business direction towards Smart Agricultural. Deep data analysis will be employed to develop the agricultural industry in the future and drive the Thai agricultural sector towards a global stage.

In terms of products and technology, Mr. Wisuwat Sunhem, COO , Head of Technology and Co-founder, and Ms. Sujitra Sutthithatip, CPO , of EASYRICE Digital Technology Co., Ltd., have stated that currently, EASYRICE has introduced two AI systems: an AI Solotion for Paddy Varieties Recognition and an AI Solution for Rice Quality Inspection. These are the first AI technology to be introduced in the rice industry, and after both AI systems have been integrated into the inspection process, they have helped to make inspections easier, faster, more efficient, and have reduced costs, time, and errors in the inspection process.

Additionally, EASYRICE plans to develop new technologies in order to reach more users and provide a wider variety of products, as well as to conduct more extensive inspections on nutritional content in response to the needs of consumers in both the rice and other food markets that are constantly changing.
Within just one year after EASYRICE launched its product,
various users including community enterprise groups, rice mills, and rice exporters across the country have received positive feedback. They have applied EASYRICE's AI system in various processes such as procurement, trading, improvement, production, packaging, and sales for domestic or export purposes. Throughout this period, the AI system has been used more than 300,000 times, covering up to 6 million tons of rice. More than 90% of customers expressed satisfaction with the accuracy, speed, and ease of use of EASYRICE's AI system based on the survey feedback. Recognizing the potential of AI technology, EASYRICE has expanded its market to major rice-producing countries worldwide. Currently, a group of trial users has tested EASYRICE's AI system in more than 25 rice mills and exporters in Vietnam, and there are plans to expand further to Cambodia and India in the future.

The results of AI inspection from EASYRICE help increase credibility and confidence in the quality of our rice. For example, in the case of price negotiation, we can use the results from EASYRICE to confirm the quality of our rice. EASYRICE is comparable to the ATK of rice inspection, which helps us to have preliminary knowledge of the quality of our rice before sending it for DNA testing, which is comparable to RT-PCR testing and takes much longer to get results.

Normally, when we inspect rice, we can find that it has been adulterated, but we don't know how it has been adulterated or how much of it is adulterated. However, with EASYRICE, we can simply send a picture for QC to check, and we can immediately analyze whether it is usable or not, whether there are defects or not. This helps to shorten and simplify the inspection process.
